Our Mission
The Mount Desert Island Music Boosters believe that we are all intellectually and culturally enriched by music and that all students should have opportunities to learn and perform music. To this end, the MDI Music Boosters support the many performance groups in our schools in several ways, including, but not limited to, hosting festivals, performance events, and guest artists, as well as fundraising events and projects which, in part, provide students monies for lessons, trips, summer study, and instrument purchase, upgrade, and repair.
The Music Boosters work very hard to ensure that musical arts remain a strong presence not only in our high school but in all our schools, as reflected in the priority music is given in the greater community and the recognition that the musical arts can be integral to success in both public school and life.
Meeting Information
The Music Boosters Board meets on the first or second Wednesday of every month, starting in September and ending in June. Meetings occur at 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM (depending on board member availability) in the MDI High School music room and can be attended virtually via Zoom. We are always looking for new members and parent volunteers, and we encourage those interested to attend our monthly meetings. If you have questions concerning our meetings or would like to gain access to attend virtually, don’t hesitate to contact us at contact@mdimusicboosters.org.
